Gloucester Downs Equestrian Park is a fully equipped equestrian training center for both horse and rider. We also stand 3 stallions:
Vaust S, 2002 KWPN international Competitive Show Jumper
Coeur de Chasse, 1999 CSH Performance Hunter
Callebault 1999 CSH Showjumper/Dressage
We would be pleased to help you and your horse or pony become the best that you can be. We teach all levels from beginners, to advanced horse show competition coaching. Horses are available for schooling to provide a full equestrian experience.
Showjumping is the focus here at GDEP, but equally important is the development of the rider as an understanding partner. Ethics, exercise physiology, interval training, progressive loading, cross training and sports psychology are available as you progress in your development. The complete care of the horse and the use of a yearly care and training plan will help you to become the best you can be as a team. Dedicated competition coaching helps you to reach your goals and create positive experiences for both horse and rider.
Training at Gloucester Downs concentrates on the basics, flexibility and fitting a horse up gradually. The facilities are extensive, with equine clinics held on such topics as performance horse management, international coaching, rehabilitation, and alternative therapies to enhance your equine partner's durability.
Gloucester Downs has breeding stallions, showjumper training, instruction for hunter jumpers, eventing and dressage. We have a Dutch Mill, round pen, indoor arena, two large outdoor arenas, a grass jumping course with liverpools, water jump, banks, a grob or Devil's Dyke, Hickstead Bank, a race track, riding trails and more.
Gloucester Downs is now home to a new Summer Camp Program which we hope to develop into a semester based program in the future. Our summer camps will offer training in two job oriented programs:
* Groom School - based on the British Groom Association model
* Riding Instructors based on the Equine Canada training and testing for "Instructor of Beginners".
We are also offering ESL classes daily for those students attending from non-english speaking countries. All equine courses will be taught "hands on" in the barn and in english. For more information go to http://www.equinestudiescanada.com or to the tab above on the menu bar that says CAMPS AND TOUR.
